Creative Coders Meet-Up: Music Edition

The past decade has witnessed a rise of a new kind of artist who wields code rather than traditional tools, who builds processes as much as outcomes, who believes that the best way to creatively co-exist with machines is to ensure that they are extensions of ourselves. Boston Creative Coders is a monthly gathering of such artists. We are deliberately open-minded about media and technology. We work with screens, projections, sound, sculpture, light, and social interaction.  We're deeply interested in art generated by computer and algorithmic processes.  We're also not afraid to put our computers down and explore ideas of connection, repetition, and exploration of systems offline. Connect with us online via the Boston Creative Coders google group.

Mark Feldmeier: 16-bit audio on 8-bit microcontrollers
Mark has been designing synthesizers for over 15 years.  Originally he was obsessed with purely analog circuits - the kind you'd find buried beneath the wood grain of a modular cabinent, or under the silvery case of the infamous TB-303.  But, with the advent of easy to use microcontroller tools, he switched focus to explore the possibilities of this infinitely reconfigurable platform.  In 2010 he formed an educational website, Open Music Labs, to document and share his experience of learning.

Noura Howell and Matt Tytel: The Making of an Indie Plugin
The duo of Howell and Tytel will talk about the making of the LittleLFO Reason Plugin and show us what this little thing can do.
