When UZ tracks first started appearing on SoundCloud last year, the Internet was immediately abuzz with speculation. Who is this dude? Or chick, as the case may be? It has to be someone famous, right? How else could they already be working with Diplo and Flosstradamus? Course it didn't help that a bunch of super-famous producers like AC Slater, Dave Nada, and Kill the Noise all claimed to be his secret identity. There was even a minute when porn star Jessie Andrews claimed to be UZ, which would be pretty awesome – if only because it would be a porn star driving people nuts by performing covered from head to toe.
Regardless of who it is, it's pretty clear that there's a lot of talent behind UZ's mask. While the earliest tracks were trap bangers, the recently-released Balltrap Muzic Vol. 1 mixtape brings in more of an eerie, atmospheric vibe that suggests UZ might have a lot more to show us, whoever they turn out to be. Nonetheless, as a Mad Decent artist, you can be pretty sure they're going to make Central Stage a fleshy mass of dance.
